Halo 3 or Mass Effect

Something tells me that Halo 3 is just hot air. I know it looks good and would be nice for online gaming, but seeing Mass Effect's latest E3 trailer I'm wondering whether that won't be a better option.

Just looking at the trailer, it got me hook. The story looks interesting (hope they make a movie) and the graphics looks good as well. Don't know how well the gameplay would be.
 
I doubt Halo 3 is all hot air... It has always been stronger on the mutliplayer side but the single player should still be really good...

Mass Efect is a RPG though so it's difficult to compare.. I really want both
 
I agree with Gav, they play very differently, and also, you don't have to make a choice between them. Halo 3 is out in September, Mass effect is ear marked for November.

For me they represent the two things I love in a game - one has complex vehicular MP action, the other an immense, deep, engaging world you want to savour slowly.
 
Dont forget Bioshock will keep you busy till Halo 3 or Mass Effect is released. LIVE is going to be a lonely place once the heavy single player hitters are out! :)

Very true what you say about the two different types of games.

I thoughed that they would both come out at more or less the same time. Budget budget...and then there is 'Army of Two'.. I might have to make a choice here and it's very difficult.
 
@Useless - I somehow doubt that. Have you tried playing anything but Gears these days? ;)

@Beni - I'm also undecided, but I'll definitely be getting Halo 3 - With the longevity of H2 and GoW I know I'll get my moneys worth. Mass Effect is in a bit more dubious position. It's fighting for budget against Assassins Creed and Rock Band.

@Doobi - I dont play GoW online. Just did that once to get the achievements and moved on. ;)

The locale setting is preventing me from downloading the Annex Map Pack as well.

Currently trying out Flatout, Shadorun & C&C 3 online but mostly with EU & US folks. Not many SA players around for those games.
 
Well, considering that I don;t actually play multiplayer FPS, and will just be getting Halo3 for the campaign, I'm more looking forward to Mass Effect. But Halo 3 is still gonna be awesome.

They are both going to be excellent, so I am getting both, even of it destroys me. Too bad everything else is coming out at the same time too.

Not having one or the other is like having to choose which of your children gets to live. I can't do it.
