Hmm, let's see what becomes of this. But I am hoping it is good news and both sides can make concessions and begin to make progress for peace.

Yeah, I have no problem with it. It's even in the Christian Bible. Just remember: Jews were referring to Arabs (and, indeed, all non-Jews) as Gentiles thousands of years before Islam.

Just so you know, infidel is a English word that refers to non-Christians. If you're looking for an Arabic word it's kafir.

Gentile, infidel and kafir (in the non SA context) all more or less have the same connotations. Whether or not they are meant to be insulting is entirely up to the speaker.

Of the three I would say gentile probably has the least derogatory connotations since the Jews haven't embarked on any Crusades against the gentiles in a couple of thousand years.

In contrast there's many a Muslim cleric that has preached "death to all infidels", and if you'd like examples, which I'm sure you're quite capable of finding on your own, let me know and I'll give you links.

LMAO! yah checkpoints ONLY exist between Israel and Palestine, it doesn't divide legally and officially Palestinian land hey? ;)

btw.. unofficially this has been the position for the last 2 years at least but there is ZERO compromise on the 67 borders / west bank etc and thus even though legally Israel they have **** all to stand on to hold back the 'process' (well for a long time already btw) they will hold it back because they want what they want. Will this change a damn thing?? Hell no. And the Irony is most knowingly happily play ignorant to exact same clauses on the Israeli side let alone fact that Israel STILL refuses to acknowledge that they have zero claim in the west bank which they will never give up occupying without force or civil war of some sort


Here's a linky, ironic how when i say they will never give up on control they make a press release :P i guess Israeli gov is just that damn predictable.
