I am not sure if this is the right Forum, but I am looking for a basic bluetooth hands free kit for my 2008 Isuzu bakkie. I saw this and thought it would do the job, but if anybody knows of something similar but better, I am open to suggestions, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on this.

BT Hands Free

I bought a pioneer head unit that comes with a mic and replaced my wifes 2006 nissan stock radio.

I imported a chinesium wire harness adaptor for nissan and matched/connected3 the wires by colour and installed by plugging adaptor in car harness and the pioneer harness in the head unit, mic wire was tucked in the trimming it has been working 6 years, no issue.

It connects to phone, so we can play music and can take and make calls.

Price will be based on the head unit you select. But its more versatile and is just better quality.

Best option - I did it on my 2010 Hardbody and it works perfectly.

Get something that is wired or you will be changing batteries for the rest of your life. Goedkoop is duur koop.

Or Airpods

Or Soundcore by Anker
Thanks but not sure why I would need to change batteries. The unit is connected to the cigarette lighter outlet. Not interested in driving aound with ear pods stuck in my ears :)

Okay get it then. It runs on batteries. Rechargable. But at that price it won't last long. But you saving money so go for it!

Thanks.
Yes this is the best option, but way more than I want to spend. I have already looked into it and the best priced unit for my bakkie is around R6k.

The adaptor R95 to R175:

A head unit= R1500

This was quick google. You can probably get cheaper head unit and be all in at about R900.

Oh OK, I hadn't even thought of this option. I was looking at something with a touch screen, but this should do the job.

Thanks I will explore this.

Just dont cut wires. Simply connect the supplied head unit harness to the bakkie radio harness.

Thus way everything works. And no battery draining and the radio switch off when you turn off the key etc.
