Hands-on with South Africa's fastest bakkie

MyBroadband recently conducted a brief test drive of the fully electric Geely Riddara RD6 and was impressed by the vehicle's performance, specifications, and practicality.

While still little known to many South Africans, Geely is the parent company of Volvo, Lotus, Polestar, and Smart. Its Riddara sub-brand is also China's largest new energy vehicle pickup brand.

At least it's got many physical buttons, so the safety hazard involved in having to navigate through screens is lessened substantially. Quite an improvement over something like our Ora, much as I like it.

I want to see the load bay full compared to a Hilux also full, and then both out through a good Southern Africa road trip…

Then can we repeat it all in 3 years and also compare the resale value. Thx!

It's a personal point but not liking the nomenclature at all.

Riddara = Average Saffa will struggle with.
RD6 = Star Wars 'R Us.

Have a touch screen sure but keep basic functionality as buttons. Muscle memory is much better on finding a button or a switch over numerous screens.
I want to turn my air con on and change the mode in two movements not scroll through things.
