Hi guys

SO's complaining as the emoticons on her S4 changed to these crappy ones after she updated to KitKat. From a quick Google it seems it happened to people with HTCs as well.

Anyone know how to fix this (cos they look pretty crappy) without needing to root?

SwiftKey, which is already set as the default. The Samsung keyboard is greyed out so you can't unselect it.

Could be possible that SwiftKey is piggybacking off of the Samsung keyboard, which is why it prevents her from unselecting it. Is the Google keyboard installed on her device, though? If it is, then my theory falls apart.

There was a thread like this before, can't remember if it was on here or XDA. But I remember there was a fix for it if your SO's phone is rooted. Is it?

And if she deselects the Samsung keyboard?

Can't deselect it as it's greyed out. :/

Nope. I saw a couple of fixes but they all require root.

Bit hesitant do root her phone at the moment, because of warranty and all the rest of it.
