Went out for drinks and supper with a friend last night, and as always, stayed for one last drink, and another, and another. :( The thing is, this happens often, and I don't have a full-blown hangover, but there's this bitter taste in my mouth that just wouldn't go away. I don't know what's worse. Anyone suffer the same symptoms? And what do you do?

Before i can dish out any advice. What exactly did you drink? If its beer then the solution is very simple...lots of water. On the other hand if its whisky/vodka then I suggest you get an ENO, drink lots of water and repeat in a couple of hours to clear out your system. At least that's what I do when I've had a rough night. Sleep won't help much coz with a babbelaas your head will be throbbing like a pinata at Christmas.

I see we have an expert on the subject, bt, did it take many hangovers to build up all this knowledge? :D

Too many boet. I'm very calculated when it comes to drinking...during the week for instance I won't have any hard liquor- only beer and perhaps a cider or two. At weekends I can lose it with the vodka/whiskey....brandy on the other hand is a total no-no...that stuff just hurts my kidneys.

If you hate hangovers the best thing to do during a drinking session is to consume water...you'll feel the effect of the booze(slippery tongue) but won't suffer the consequences of your excess the next morning.

I used to have it ALL the time! 1 sachet of re-hydrat my friend ... thats all you need! or if you dont have it, my solution was half a litre of fruit juice before i go to bed. Try the re-hydrate though, its a true life saver! fresh to go in the morning :D

re-hydrate works as does drinking a litre of water before bed...both do the same...rehydrate...

What if you get home at like 4am? Drinking a litre of water after boozing just does not sound right but then again I s'pose different strokes for different folks:p

They had a programme on BBC Life about how excessive drinking hastens the body's aging process.

Not nice!

Have you seen the one on all the crap they put in our food?

You think alcohol makes you grow old :), steroid chicken, pestcids in fruit and veg, you ain't seen nothing til you see that program bluno.

What is the title?

Look at it this way: avoiding alcohol means ONE less bad think goes into one's body.
