I am not sure why the Broadband "Gods" decided to smile on me , but I had a very satisfying 3G expereince this week.
I was scheduled to give a talk and live demonstration of GE for the local camera club.
Sad thing is -- my Laptop is Non Compos Mentis -- an ongoing battle with the Laptop Manufacturer DEMONS.
Anyway I borrowed an old "biscuit-tin" P4 Celeron machine , stuck a notebook drive in an external USB enclosure on it ,
borrowed a Vodacom HUAWEI E220 from the girl next door slotted in my SIM plugged it into one of the other USB ports and fired it all up.
Wonders of wonders everything worked and the 3G installed VC Lite first time and I was online and logged into GE.
Went off to do the talk , put the biscuit tin on the floor under the table , fired up the 3G
and the "Lite" showed up 3.6 for the whole GE demonstration inside the indoor venue.
No hangs no dropouts just good solid communication.
So well done Vodacom and HUAWEI -- communication as she is meant to be
the ECSTATIC one
