Happy holy holidays for all

I think this is long overdue, as a Christian myself, this has never been an issue for me, but if we are to have a multi-religious society, then surely we can have other holy days as Public Holidays, perhaps remove some of the more uneccesarry ones

Women's day is one that can go, another is Boxing day ( or whatever it's called now ) so you have one for Eid ul Fitr and one for Deepawali, I'm sure we can find a few more

Agreed, it does not have to be a public holiday for one to still celebrate the true meaning of the important religious dates.

I enjoy having a birhtday thats a holiday :)

Hey I feel, everyone should have public holidays, but let not get certain groups upset, lets just get more holidays, I know I'll appreciate it

But most importantly we need to fight for 14 March to finally become an official public holiday!!!

Had a meeting with a guy at work the otehr day, he said he was once in Nigeria, when the Governmnet declared the follwoing day a public holiday. Apparently thats how things happen there. The day was called "Beautification and Deratification Day"!!! Apparently someone decided that Lagos was looknig a bit grimy and that the rat problem in Gov't buildings was getting out fo control. Apparently people were meant to clean up their homes and there yards and also, contractors had been arranged for purposes of "deratifying" State buildings!!! heheheheehe

Scrap all religious holidays IMO.

I don't mind the time off work, but why not secularise these days?
