Hard Drive Clicking

Make / Model? How dead? Not showing up in the BIOS? Not showing in Windows? etc?

If it's clicking or making any other audible sounds, the last thing you want to do is run data recovery software. Take it to a data recovery specialist and have them sort it.

Any recommendations on a good recovery service?

All my data was recovered! The first company didn't have any luck in recovering the data. Took the drive to Tecleo (http://www.tecleo.co.za/) expecting the same results. But they managed to recover all the data.

Now to setup daily backups. What backup strategies/software is everyone using?

all they could have done was to take your platters and place them into a replica HDD.....eish a few bob worth.

.... in a clean room envirenment, how much do you think that cost them?
