Does anyone know when the prices will come back down?
I need to get some for a new rig and storage, and at the rate they are now, might as well save for SSD.. :wtf:

Seagate predicts demand will outstrip supply for several quarters so don't expect the prices to come down by much.

They have come down a little bit, but not much. It will still be a good while before they are as cheap as they were. Looking back, they really were insanely cheap before the floods.

So who had the flood exactly? Seagate? Western Digital? Samsung? Toshiba?? They all just capitalizing on this to keep the prices high. It's a conspiracy I tell you.

Yea, when I had no budget for them then, ahhh.. gone are those days...

what size and how many you looking for?

at least 2x 1TB - Why? U have some for sale?

but there is such a shortage of hard drives at the moment
i went this weekend to go get an external hard drive had to phone about 12 game/makro stores before i finally found a 2TB external at game brooklyn.
only paid about R1300 for a HP USB3.0 2TB external not bad at all:D
so if you are in the market for a new hard drive or external buy it now

yeah externals can work out much cheaper at the moment, issue with warranty if you take the drive out though to use as an internal

I will sell you 2x1TB from my bunker hard drive storage, I got 50x of every hard drive make and size. :D

Check out the flooding for yourself....
You have the inconvenience of paying a few hundred rand more.
These people had the inconvenience of seeing their entire homes and businesses destroyed.
