Another pc we got in the house, survived the lightning. I was using it to test hardwares (like HD) of the two pc which the mobo were fried.
After I hooked two HD seperately onto that pc and made sure they are working, I plug the IDE and power back to the DVD drive of PC and it gives me problem when I boot up.
With original HD and DVD ROM, PC hang at the blue XP welcome screen, keyboard/mouse works.
If I disconnect DVD and only boot with HD, it won't detect the HD somehow.
If I boot with my own HD, will boot from my HD and when I am in XP can't see any partition in windows, but in device manager it detects this seagate PATA (2 month old).
Haven't try with the other PC's HD but I doubt it will work.
What could possibiliy be the problem? hook multiple harddrive on that PC and now that operating system is confused?? Not virus related, tried all the master/slave/cable jumper settings possible, tried clear CMOS.......Will try hammer the HD later tonight
No time to sort it out now but do any of you know what could be the problem?
