hard drive question

hello all

so i have an hd that when i boot up into windows, sometimes windows doesnt see it, sometime it does, swopped the power cables around etc and it doesnt happen to my other drives so i have ruled out the power supply & mb.

another thing when i play a movie from the drive is skips and doesnt play properly but if i play the same movie from another drive it plays fine no problems,

what could it be? should i take back my hard drive???

Is it the 500gig drive and is it a seagate?

yes it is the 500gb seagate which i have updated the firmware of....

Back it up, then trade it in.
