Hi guys

I'm looking @ buying a hard drive video camera - on the market @ the mo are 30gig or seven hours recording time. Can you please recommend a brand (apparently JVC is very good). Also what is the resolution or pic quality like?

In general what do u think of these cameras?

Thank you.

The resolution at best will be 725by576 or PAL at 60 fps interlaced.

Since its 30GB for 7hours they're not using AVC or MPEG2 but probably storing the data as uncompressed 10bit DV, although that has to be one fast drive to be able to record that sort of quality.

Brand wise, any Japanese make for consumer cameras is good. For professional I'd choose Panasonic then Sony. Canon makes good prosumer models too. Victor (JVC) is also good.
