hi guys, my PC (ibm thinkcentre) popped on wed night so I had to quickly replace it with a compaq 500B. My question is, I'd like to add in more HDDs (currenty have 2 inside but I dont have any bays left. There is enough space inside but where can I get an adapter that can make another two 3.5" HDD bays inside the chassis? Help appreciated.

Had similar problem and sorted it with cable ties... crude but effective... ;)

You can also use Mecanno pieces or the slot covers on the back of the case (need to drill holes though) :)

just be careful when using cable ties, make sure its fastened down nice and tight cuz you dont want it bumping around and causing damage.

Thanks for the advice guys. What I did was dismantle the 3.5HDD bay in my old thinkcentre and then bolt it into the new PC chassis. I now use the same HDD securing method as the think centre had (you mount the HDD into a brace and then pop into chassis). Sorted!

How much does a harddrive server cost?
Bit of a thread jack, but OK.
How long is a piece of string? It depends, but you basically just want a NAS. (=Network Attached Storage). I don't know, but usually they start at around R2k I think.
