Hardware and Software prices to climb

What i find nasty is lets say they brought in 100 intel cpu's at the old rate, they then sell them at the new rate even though they paid the old rate.

I can understand new stock but not old stock being sold for more.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way for Importers Killadoob.

When importing you dont pay immediately for goods like everyone else. They run accounts much like a dealer has an account with Rectron and the likes. Now the only problem is that the world currency is dollar based. So if I order 100 CPU's @ $90 today and the rand falls by 17% over night. At the end of the month (or whatever terms you have) when payment is due, that $90 cpu cost me 17% more when converting Randds to Dollars.

Now to put it in perspective some more. If you consider that most hardware companies make an average of 5 -12% markup on goods, if they left pricing unchanged, they would be running at a loss.

I bought an item from Amazon via Wantitall over a week ago... Price was R471 when I paid and is now R573

It's called profiteering, something SA business does exceedingly well. Including Telkom I believe.
