Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is allowed but I know of a great website that does hardware and software support over the internet. It's called PCDoctors and I find it to be extremely useful.

if this isn't allowed can an admin please delete this thread as I don't want to do something you guys might find offensive or something.

I wonder how the reponse time on that site is? I just browsed around, but it looks cool ;)

I just wonder with a user id 7 if you not working for them?

Believe me somewhere, someone is pi**ed off with them.

ahhh okay, thanks for clearing that up, apology accepted :D ;) :)

Hi there, I'm not sure what your problem with the site is? Is there a problem with the internet browser or am i missing something? As for working for them, I am an admin there yes but I was invited. This website was created by the head Admin Christo in march this year. He only did this because my self and few others asked to start his own website because he knows alot about PC's and how to fix them. I haven't yet had a problem that he hasn't been able to fix which says alot for him. As I have alrady stated if the admins here don't like me posting this website link could please remove this post as I don't want any strife with anyone else.

True but this is in the hope that if you don't get your answer here that you can try and find it at PCD.

I endorse this site 100 %.They are knowledgable, friendly and the advice is free.

Don't believe me.

Check it out.

Telkom's Marconi Wi-Fi Modem

Hi,

I truly hope someone can help me with this, I have a client that took out th 24 month ADSL contract with telkom and recieved one of those marconi Wi-Fi junk, so now I have set up the modem, the internet portion is working perfectly and the computer thats conected on the ethernet side can browes the net.

But now she want to use her Notebook on the Wi-Fi. Now i have set up everything that I think is necessery on the marconi, the notebook assosiates with the wi-fi router, so iets connected but im not getting a IP addres from the DHCP server of the Marconi!

Is there anyone that have set this thing up before or know where my problem is ???

Thanks

Use the following settings on the notebook: Type=infrastructure, Encryption=WEP 128 bit Hex, Authentication is Shared (not open) - Key is found on the bottom of the router (26 hex digits)
If you do not get a 10.0.0.x IP from the router, you are not connected. For more info contact marconi's Helpdesk - number found on the box
