Hardware Bargains

I think we should have a separate thread for bargains on hard drives. Everyone needs more hard drives, regardless of how much space you have left.

Nah, keep it all together. We are getting a Version 2 of H/B shortly in any case. We have hit the 10 000 post limit afaik.

That's considered a bargain nowadays? It used to be half that. :( Not really worth it at anything more than 2 grand to be honest.

Brilliant price. But just remember that it's not a 'real' e-reader -- because it does not have the easy-on-the-eyes eInk screen as noted above, it's more correctly a stripped-down tablet with a standard backlit LCD screen. Those who do a lot of reading will generally prefer an eInk screen because it puts less strain on the eyes. But at that price it even works as an MP3 player....

Pnp had the Kobo touch for R799 earlier this year. Cannot find it on their site anymore.

Takealot have the Kindle with US promotion for 1200 and 1400 without the extra ads

It's used right? Fair value would be R500 or less (buyers will always give you a lower price than you think your stuff is worth).

Try to use a depreciation equation, where the price you paid is devalued by 20% of it's original value each other (maybe even 33% each year, as it's IT equipment). Also count the fact that it is used. This should give you an amount.
