Ja, I don't know about Esquire anymore.
I've been there twice and on both occasions have been met with a bit of "resentment" at not being a big corporate reseller or such.
Thought PostmanPot will attest to having an easy time purchasing there.

And after this post from Esquire, it's not making me feel very welcome and I'm just going to give them a miss from now on.
On the two times I'd been there, the lady that proccess payments and stuff was like, "Oh you again and this MyBB account. You have to apply for a COD account you know..."
I laughed it off and we joked and I got what I wanted.
And I'm not pissed at her, cos I reckon she's doing her job.
But if there's no communication from Esquire rep, to at least the CT branch, then that's not the way I want to walk in and make purchases.

Also if I'm to "small time", then I'd rather check out PCInternational, PmP or other retailers out there.

Interesting. They are going to have to improve that then...Their prices are not that good.

Nah she's not rude.
Ony my last trip there, she was joking more than kukking me out.
Also that she supports Liverpool and I was wearing my ManU T-shirt didn't help things :p
But we had a good laugh and I also said that I'd merely keep on with the MyBB account.
The sales reps are friendly and stuff.
But the "silly feeling" comes into play when you're saying that, "Ok just one of each component please."

I dunno and what does Esquire mean by, "Not for the average end user"?
Do we or don't we go there?
Whom is he trying to attract to his company.
It's one thing to say the MyBB account is open to all MyBB forum members and then a few months later to drop in, "Not for the average end user."

Bit baffled that's all...

Yeah, look I don't want to derail this thread with Esquire chatter, but the last special they had on GPU's.
Those prices were inline with PCInternational and on some cards, PCInt was R30 or so cheaper still.

But they certainly do have pricing that eludes to good deals at times.

S&B, don't feel bad. Just think about how many people are using the MyBb account for "just one of each component". ;)

One supplier will never have good pricing on everything. Certain things. For others, go to other suppliers. :D

But Esquire's GPUs, LCDs, memory and a few others are very well priced, and we are very lucky to be able to get them.

Yeah - prices competition is fairly rife at the moment- specially when buying online. Customer and after-sales service is going to become more and more crucial.

- VAT: All prices quoted on kalahari.net include VAT. The subtotal for all your purchases as displayed in your basket includes VAT.

Yeah I'd agree with that bru sentiment, but some clarification on "Do we mere mortals go there or not?" would be in order.

If it's not meant for "Average Joe" then I'm fine with it.
But I don't want to have to go in there everytime charming, chatting, overcoming obstacles to be able to purchase there.

Fsck it - if I wanted to do that, I would've stayed in Juice and Milk production and still be wheeling and dealing with farmers, hawkers, shop owners, "bubbies", street merchants and one or two drug dealers. :p :D

All I'm looking for is an easy purchase :p :D ;)

Ja nee, let me get back to work.
Though the constant typing does give the impression that I'm getting something done :D

woah, turn your back for a short while and look at the activity :p
so how many 1TB drives have been sold? i got one myself, and i'm so upset i didn't get two :(

with kalahari i have had no problems so far. the only stuff i tend to wait for are the pre-orders (duh). and their free delivery rocks. plus i got a R50 book voucher which i had to use.

to reiterate some answers:
kalahari delivery: FREE for orders over R375

Fscking hell - this Kalahari Special on the HDD has me tearing my hair out.

What to do, what to do?
1TB HDD or smokes? :D
I still have to get a damn 500watt PSU as well.
Poker decisions are easier than this...

That's a lot of smokes  Either way 1TB > smokes. Any day. :)

Well actually smokes I can try and bring down to about R180 for the coming month, can try, being the imperative...

The balancing act is having me teetering towards the HDD :p

well i ordered my drive BEFORE posting the deal, so hopefully i will be first hehehe
