If you are looking for a good/cheap netbook, try pczones http://www.zones.co.za/

Just saw their limited offer, Lenovo S10, N270,2G RAM,160HD and 10' screen for only R4499 (incl VAT).

I am a proud owner and can say it's a very good netbook and this is a bargain price. I got mine in HongKong before Xmas at a similar price but only 1G Ram and 80G HD (Later I upgraded my RAM to 2G)......

For some reason, Makro seem very negotiable on prices at present, I guess just keen to move the boxes in the present state of the economy. I have got some good deals from them of late.

1TB Fujitsu Siemens External Hard Drive R1599 (was R2199)

i also saw this add, but strange enough, in the same bundle of ads, the same product (with same item code) was advertised as 1,799 - could be a type-o??

R999 for the Logitech MX Revolution mouse ... this is at incredible connection ... surprising they are R300 cheaper than anywhere else on this mouse

Care to elaborate? Did you just ask for a discount or how now?

Didn't noticed this at woodmead today. But they had some Demo sale, 10% off for those Demo LCD/PC.

But I got myself brand new Timeshift and NFS Pro Street for R99 each.

Yeah, basically just asked for it. One of the items, a Sony 40" LCD, was already advertised on "special" and I wanted a PVR with it, so asked them for a better price for the two, which came to total of R16.2k. It was late on a Saturday afternoon just before closing, and it was one of the serior sales staff I was talking to. She disappeared around the corner with a calculator for a few minutes then came back and said "R14999.00". Deal, I said.

Then got stopped at the exit door by security who said the barcodes on product and invoice didn't tie up.

After a few minutes they came back with the sales lady stating it was a "combo" price. Thought you only got those at the local Spur.

So I was smiling...:D ... until my credit card statement arrived this week....

I see. Nice :)

I have never tried to just ask for a discount. I guess it helps if it is a big ticket item.
