When I went into IC in Canal Walk yesterday asking about, Kaspersky Internet Security.
The guy asked, "The one on special for R800 sir? That's done for now"

I was like WTF? And just walked out...

Hahaha, IC staff. They are special people. Trained to pounce on you as you enter and ask if you need any assistance - then when you ask them, anything at all, they have no idea...If it's a choice between two, take the more expensive one, is about as far as their advice stretches. :o

LOL my very first experience with IC was about 10 years ago... I went to find out the price of a 30GB hard drive (that was massive back then). The dude looked very puzzled and called someone else. He, very seriously, looked at me and asked what a hard drive was. I had no words and just left

They usually update their site later in the week but their leaflet is distributed every Tuesday (if they running a special).

I am not sure if you can order them over the IC website. But this is one of the regular Cybercircus special they run during May.

Just a question on kaspersky internet security does this product include kaspersky anti-virus or is it a pure anti-malware/anti-spyware solution and would one still need a separate anti-virus program?

It's antivirus+firewall+parental control type of comprehensive package.

Does it require further updating from the web once you've installed it.
I want to get it for a friend who doesn't have internet access, but reckons she has a bit of a viral problem.

....lol "Viral Problem" :p :D

If you are helping out a friend with virus problem but not internet access, I guess maybe first try those free programs? As commercial program on CD is not updated.

I would recommend the program Cureit from Dr.Web. You can download the latest copy from their official site, most recently update copy (10Mb maybe), it runs as a stand alone scanner and I had good experience with it.

+1 for Cureit! They update it every day and this link gets you the latest one. But remember it is stand alone. You run it as and when you need it.

Yeah that should be ok for her needs.
It's just a little Pc that her and her husband use to watch movies with.
I reckon the kid came along with some mp3's or porn and got something on it.
So hopefully if it can find the root to their issues (which I don't know what they are) and get rid of it.
They should hopefully be sorted.
