The 24" is better 'at the price' if you can afford the extra. It's priced there the same as the 2333 is normally.

Damn.. that 2494HS price is awesome. Dropping R200 in a month through supply channels.

but i see Kalahari pull that HDrive off their site, they were obviously getting too many failures, for some or other reason. My guess is the courier delivering the drives were just throwing throwing them in the back of the truck, I mean they dont care whats in the box..?

Apparently both screens are actually the same size. Same resolution. 2494HS's benefits are built-in speakers and HDMI which would carry HD video and audio [provided the graphics card had HDMI] as opposed to DVI which carries HD video without audio.

2333SW looks much nicer though. ;)
 
2494 is marginally bigger, but its almost unnoticeable. I moved from 2333 -> 2494 for the HDMI support.
 
I don't agree that the 2333 and 2494 are the same size at all. The 2333 looks noticeably narrower than a 2232 or a 2494 for that matter.

I owned both ... 2494 is definitely wider, but its not really noticeable unless you put them next to each other.
 
Anyone know where I can pick up a Acer Aspire A110 laptop on special? Standard price at Incredible Connection is R1999. Was on special there a couple of times for R1500.

All my other drives are WD, with exception of my SSD, which is Samsung and that works brilliantly- irony hey!

Yep - I currently have the WDs and Samsung SSD - I've also tried my older PATA Hitachi (IBM) and my even older Maxtor drives, without issue...
I'm currently running dual PSUs - 2x 585W Gigabyte Odins - one for the board, gpu and boot HDD, and the other for all the drives and fans. Both run cool and are not near their max output limit.

On the last return to them, they seemed to be a bit sheepish about inconvenience, and I also noticed that the drives were no longer listed shortly after. Most couriers I've dealt with seem to be careful most of the time, but you never know - the packaging was okay and well packed up with air pockets, so mishandling may or may not have contributed to their failures.
I just find it hard to believe that 5 out of 8 drives from the same manufacturer have failed within 2 weeks.

I put it to bad luck, but still wouldn't personally buy them again.

Hi. A bit off topic, but could you maybe send me a PM, or start another thread an let me know how you run 2 x PSU's ... how do you get them to switch on ... this is one thing I would like to know so I can do the same. I've looked before and never found a complete answer.

You'll find failure reports for most if not every drive in existence. Compare the amount of failure reports to the amount of satisfied customers. 0.00001 to 9.99999 I would say.
