Any idea how CPA deals with takealot and their online deals? Isn't there something like... they have to have sufficient stock of an advertised item and if they run out of stock need to provide a similar item at the same price?

Does that sound reasonable to you?

AFAIK they are covered by their stock number ticker alongside the daily deal which counts down to zero.

n/a for normal sales of products but then they normall "no stock" a product when they hit zero

Unfortunately they do indicate the number units available on daily deals. They in line with CPA if you lost out you can always wake-up at 7 am and place your order.

The Company will deliver the Goods to you as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than 30 days of receipt of your payment (“Delivery Period”). We will notify you if we are unable to deliver the Goods during the Delivery Period. You may then, within 7 days of receiving such notification elect whether or not to proceed with your order for the Goods. If you elect not to proceed with your order, we will reimburse you with the purchase price within 30 days of having informed you that we are not able to deliver the Goods during the Delivery Period.

Just got a call. It was a F'Up.

But I think they are handling it very well considering.
Kudos to them.

Please elaborate will they honour it or refund you.

Sadly we've had to cancel order XXXXXX, as we have not received payment from you in time.

All is not lost though... you can still place a new order if you'd like, although we can't guarantee that those same items will still be available.

They will honour 1 unit per person where payment has already been made.

For multiple unit orders, they will credit you in refund for the balance.

They had over 1000 orders placed.

Taking a knock of R1 200 per unit.

Eina! I guess my COD is in the same category as "already paid" hence my order is still active. Shame I feel for them a bit :-/

I was told that 26 other people had ordered and I'm "very lucky today".
 
Very sad that my order was cancelled would have paid if the bank honoured it. Yeah that is a heavy knock to take over R1 million knock EINA.

Oh well better luck next time. :)
