Talking about hard drives, I heard Transcend is pretty good. Anyone had issues with them?

Transcend does not make hard drives, they just stick other manufacturers drives in their enclosures. Which ones I don't know.

There are only 3 manufacturers left, Seagate, Toshiba & Western Digital. Maxtor & Samsung now belong to Seagate and Hitachi to Western Digital.

My seagate 3tb also packed in.. Went and bought an external enclosure, broke open the seagate one, and voila! Have my 3tb back again..

Not saying it'll work for everyone, but I do think the rubbish seagate enclosure is responsible more often than people suspect..

Mine was in a microserver when it packed up, I have a 1,2 and had a 3tb drive the 1 and 2 tb ones have lasted for many years now.

Those of you who had their 3TB drives die, did you update the firmware upon receipt? That's the first thing I do when I buy a Seagate drive - update the firmware.

Yeah I don't really stock much at all. Part time business I run for some spare cash :)

I only stock graphics cards and other goods I know I can offer cheaper than other stores.

Can you get a hold of some decent PC Case Fans? Like a Delta or something really amazing like that.

Other than that though, thanks for the thread link, I wasn't aware of the restock dates.

Excellent drives, sold between 100 and 150 and only one return (faulty USB connection, drive inside OK).

As ponder said, Transcend is just the brand of the enclosure.

I bought a phone from them sometime at the end of last year. Don't know if anything's changed but their tracking system was useless. Long and nervous wait for that package to arrive. Three weeks plus with no updates. Returns policy also sucked if I recall but wasn't needed. Product got here safely and no problems with it so far.

Bought my HTC One M8 as well as a few accessories from them. No complaints at all. Plus, free delivery if order is over R1000 if memory serves correct. I didn't have to pay customs charges either.

That being said, I don't know what the warranty terms are with electronics bought from guys like these...

Samsung 60" FHD plasma is back on Groupon for R9 899 again today.

I heard that Groupon sells your bank account details, and then you start having mysterious debit orders on your account. Not sure if bs or true, haven't used them myself.

I have used them a number of times, including for their uShaka Marine winter groupons, but I have not had any problems or unauthorised debit orders.

My friend has one of those drop tested external drives, not a single problem in 5 years.
