Hi Guys,

I am looking for a reliable entry-level tablet for under R1500 for a high school student, on the surface the Netsurfer 7 seems like a bargain, any one have experience or advice on another tablet please.

The Vodafone 3G 7" tablet is perfect for the job.

I know you said R1500, but I got this through the insurance. Quite happy with it. It even serves as my main Gps unit now.

7" is actually a bit small for a student's needs.

I would suggest this one, that also comes with apps installed specifically for SA students.

Got one a month ago and was pleasantly surprised.

You will need to get an SD card as well though.

The mecer is a quad core, they have been trying to make tablets for over 4 years now, may be this one is better.
Vodacom is 3g. so all depends on your needs really

Not the best, plays sim city ok. It is a small bit on the laggy side when you start running more resource hungry apps, but not to bad. Considering the price you can't expect the performance of lets say a R5000 up tablet, but I do like the clear screen and battery life. For my needs like a bit of facebook here and there, browsing and such it is very good. A tablet made for work I would say.

Wanted to. Then did you pay?

I made it clear i will not pay R560 fees on a R640 package and they agreed to wave the charges, but advised me that next time those fees will have to be paid.

Be careful with TNT shipping, i ordered 2 items from geekbuying last month, and TNT wanted to charge me R560 clearing fees.

I paid R650 on R2900 worth of products, but when a R1500 product came in I paid nothing. Luck of the draw type of thing.
