Hi all
Bit of a noob on the broadband front, but thanks to no Telkom ports in my area, we are going with Wimax. From the help line I understand that the Wimax antenna output, as installed, is a normal RJ45 - so does this mean I can directly connect a normal access point or router to it (as opposed to a ADSL modem or something)? Love the wireless.

Also, latency-wise for gaming, which is the better option in your opinion - SAIX or IS? A lot has been said on both, but I'd like some user opinions....

Thanks in Advance
Ed

Hi,

You have to use a router - and if you want to have wireless use a wireless router, I use a Linksys WRT 150 N - works just great.

Welcome to MyBB...

Thanks, and thanks :-)

They haven't installed yet, so I'm still considering the options.

You don't have to use a router. We use a direct PPPoE connection having our WiMax connected to a switch and a Broadband dial-up connection. :-)

Using a router just makes your "always on" connection possible. When you do decide to go the way of a router make sure your router is compatible with WiMax.
