Hi all,

Noticed one of my games lagging suddenly and started up Task Manager and this is what I found.

Out of the 10 odd GB on the board only 2 is being read?!
Swapped the sticks around and still the same issue. Thoughts?

Their can be 2 things wrong in my experience of this, 1) Your Memory Controller on the CPU is damaged, or 2) you have bent CPU pins and the mem Controller ones are not making contact(or CPU is not seated correctly).

Have had this issue with the 1366 sockets and the 1155 sockets.

And the "Yeah but it worked for 6 months and suddenly", doesn't apply here, are you using 1.65v or 1.5v Ram?
1.65v can damage you RAM controller on your CPU over the long run, you can google this with poeple having their Boards and CPU's die after a couple of months of using 1.65v ram.

Just check, you can also test it by only inserting 1 or 2 sticks, and then seeing what happens if you still have a large number reserved.
on a side note, I also contacted Corsair and they say that they can only recommend multiple sticks working together if you buy them in kits.

Could be a bios problem. E.g. the HP microserver is specced for 8 gig but can take 16 gig unofficially. However if 16 gig is installed there is no guarantee it will boot into 16 gig all the time.

Well 10GB is odd as you say. ;)

There is no fault. The first shot shows 2 slots are being used but the second only 1. So you have 8+2 GB installed. Dual channel can only work if there is a matched amount of ram or you'll have half your memory consisting of holes. There is thus 2 options, either use the first 2GB on each stick or just one stick. With unmatched ram it's easier just to throw one stick away as "reserved." Get another 8GB stick or install the 2GB on the same channel as sequential memory.

Well went back to my AMD setup until I can buy more RAM. The 8GB by itself seems to be corrupted or something :\ 1 month in.
