Hardware to look forward to this year

Really looking forward to the drop in hard drive prices. Prices are killing me at the moment.

How about country-wide LTE implementation? That will be hardware worth looking forward to ;)

What dabbler said =)

That being said, I just upgraded to i7-2600K P67 Sandy Bridge last week... Not regretting it at the moment - hell, this is fast (on SSD now as well). I really don't see the point in wasting months of my life away waiting for the new tech to get out... but in the same light it always sucks knowing that within a few months there's going to be something miles ahead of me on the market again.

If you had R10-15k to blow on hardware now and only had a Socket 775 dual/quad core with 2-4GB of DDR800 RAM on you at the moment, would you wait for the hardware described in this article to become affordable probably only half way through 2012, or would you go sandy bridge now?

I went Core 2 just before the intel i-series became cheap and felt quite bad but that rig has lasted till no so I can't really complain. I wait for Ivy bridge before upgrading again, even though the Sandy bridge E is becoming quite tempting at this stage.

HHD's are IMO the biggest thing to look forward to this year...

Windows 8 multi core dockable tablet PC.... *drool*
(Something resembling the Asus Transformer Prime)
