Hardware Upgrades...Wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

I'm looking to upgrade parts of my PC. Going with AMD Ryzen, and a small form Mini ITX chassis, PSU, Motherboard and RAM.

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday? Did the major online retailers (Takealot, Evetech, Wootware etc) offer truly excellent deals? Which retailers should I look for?

Last year i watched for sales hoping to see some bargains but from what i could see there were no significant discounts on pc hardware. It was more the home/kitchen stuff.

I don't think it will hurt to wait, but I won't get to excited either. Last year I did manage to score a 750 Evo 250GB for below 1K and a NZXT case for a good price. Other hardware was a disappointment. Most of the online shops won't be able to handle the traffic, the online payment systems will crash and it is usually just very frustrating. Delivery times will also disappoint as courier companies will be flooded and the warehouses will get orders messed up.

There is a decent chance of finding a deal. Add Rebeltech to your list of to watch.

Don't expect silly discounts though. Your best bet is to get the same discounts you can expect at any other time of the year confined to a single day but not much more.

Suppose that's better than nothing, and there should be some savings, at least on a great RAM deal etc. RAM is ridiculously expensive. Any reason for this?

Rebeltech didn't have a good selection of deals last year if I remember correctly, unless you were looking for a mouse or headphones. Evetech had some good deals on SSD's and HDD's and AMD products. Wootware had a selection of graphics cards on "sale".

Do deals start at Midnight on the websites? Best to be up then and purchase when most people are asleep?

I've already got a great graphics card (1060 6GB), SSD and HDD So looking to upgrade the rest

Most start at midnight with a count down timer, but expect some issues. Watch Rebeltech, Evetech, Wootware, Computersonly etc. facebook pages as they sometimes slowly give some "sneak peek" of what will be on sale.

I avoid Evetech, their rep on here is not great. I did not watch tech specials too closely last year and wont be too bothered this year either.

I've had no real issues with Evetech for the last 5-6 years including getting a replacement for a 3 year old GPU that stopped working end of last year. But I do realise some have issues with their support. I won't buy a Laptop from them though as their knowledge in that areas is lacking allot and MSI notebook support is pathetic. Evetech have some great prices if you are looking for MSI products.
