Not entirely sure which forum this is to go in, here or the Eskom one.

Granted the Harmony cuts are partially from restructuring, but I can be damn sure that Eskom have speeded up this process.

Also a bit of a counter argument to dip***** Alec Erwin and all the guavamint cronies who say this crisis won't effect the economy, when places like Anglo, Goldfields and Harmony are talking about production that is in the region of 10% lower than last year. Oh and possibly having to close mine shafts.

If Goldfields and Anglo have to axe staff because of this, then I really hope heads roll at guavamint and in Eks-dom.

Goldifelds have 21 shafts - at 90% power they would have to close 6, at 80% power they would close 10. Remember a mine needs approx 50-60% power <possibly more> just to maintain them, this excludes any production work whatsoever. The mine bosses have also been compalining about the 80/90% power promoise from Eskom, they need firm commitment that they will have uninterrupted power - if not, lives are gonna be at risk.

Good.
Sorry for those people, but maybe they will not vote for the ANC next time.
Got to break a few eggs to make an omelet.
