Has anybody successfully ported Java Mxit to Android?

I tried using j2me emulator from the netmite website but when I open the download page for Mxit on the j2me emulator and try and download it doesn't do anything.

Lets face it, Mxit Androids GUI sucks and some features are left out.

What features are left out?

The GUI is decent if you ask me, but my friends have mostly abandoned it now anyway so it's almost dead to me.

Yeah, everyone I know has moved over to whatsapp. it works on symbian/android/iphone and bb, and you don't need to be "logged in" like mxit. It just runs in the background quietly and kinda acts like sms on steroids. It even makes sending images way easier than mms.

Color text, farewell message, profile pics are blurry(probably got to do with data costs). GUI is OK I guess but its slow on log in. I'm used to the Java version.

Hardly anyone that I know uses whatsapp only the people with BB use it + I don't like the way its set up, feels weird to use.
