I've booked and ready to fly

Website said first flight 5 March, but no media follow up.

ACSA live arrivals today isn't showing flights

Has anyone actually flown them, or know someone who has

AFAIK they're commencing their first commercial flight on the 16th?

Thanks, schumi

Good to know as I paid for a flight before then.

So, I would still be interested to know if anyone has actually flown on Skywise or know anyone who has?

The ACSA site actually shows Skywise flights on certain queries (CT one today was 15 minutes early :)), but not others

Word also needs to get out that the payment engine on the Skywise website is not secure. I could have paid with my credit card, but it is not https:// so my details would have been exposed on the internet.

I have warned Skywise and they said they would fix it, but I checked today and they are still allowing exposed transactions.

I have a great concern about dealing with a company which does expose customers to such risk (often without their knowing about it)

Well, I've had my flight and it went smoothly. It's a lot less busy than the other airlines so I recommend it for now for the pricing and extra space. They left on time (actually a few minutes early) which is always a welcome move.

Only issue is that secure payment issue on the internet.

The criminal that just used my credit card booked a flight with them, but I've cancelled the card. Sorry Fraudster!! :p

Interesting way to find out about a new airline. I had to Google 'Skywise' to find out what the transaction was for!

Terrible. How did he get hold of your card?

The card must have been cloned or it was an inside job as I still have the card in my possession. I hardly ever use this card. Maybe a couple of transactions per month.

March was a busy month on this card, 4 transactions in total. Kauai, CLicks, Builders Express and Payfast.co.za

I flew with them a couple of weeks back, wasn't a bad experience at all. They're legit if that's what you need to know.

Thanks. Two experiences now and no problem. It's a pleasure to fly on a plane which isn't brimfull. They are quick to hike their prices though - I paid double the nominal price and they were half full. Also, I wonder if they fixed the security on their online payment yet (not using https) as it's a major risk.

They have red carpets at their check - in counters. They have decent planes. They are keeping their business simple with 1 route, and they have the balls to challenge SAA's endless stream of cash. I would definitely fly with them if they were competitively priced.

Had to resurrect this thread - anyone booked a flight with them and want to share their experience with this airline, have they secured their online payment website?

I fly CT to JNB often but haven't used them recently as there have been a lot of specials and they didn't come in cheaply. To check their secure payment, just go through the motions of making a booking and see if the URL changes to https:// (which it did not do before) before you start entering personal information for payment etc.

flew with them about 3 weeks ago, not sure I will again, plane was old and looking a bit tired inside in-flight service also wasn't that great
