Has anyone noticed a massive degradation in Telkom?

These days all my clients are having to wait an hour on hold to get through to someone. When they do get through that person is close to useless.

Not only that, there wholesale department has gone for a ball of ****. I cant get through to them to place an order!!! What the frak. Being trying the whole day to order a new line and no one is answering in whole sale.


Mybb should really do an article on Telkom's dropping levels of service and the incredibly long hold times.

Thats the thing about Monopolies, since there is no competition they can sit back and give you the worst ever service and you cant do much about it.

There is a thread specifically about the long wait times. MyBB did approach Telkom about this and their PR rep gave a sad story.

Bottom line, their call centre is useless. Their mobile call centre vs fixed line call centre are miles apart – maybe completion has something to do with it. Cause you can bet, if their mobile call centre was a bad as their fixed line call centre – the mobile business would have closed down by now.

Noticed this also, and im not even a business customer.My query about my bill still stands from Nov 2014, whereas previously only took 1 hello peter complaint to sort it out within a few days.

I was sick of Telkom call centre queues, so switched to Cybersmart. Spent h-o-u-r-s talking on the phone to Cybersmart but they couldn't connect me to my client's VPN.
Double-checked with Telkom at Canal Walk, CTn that their ADSL could connect to client's VPN. They said "yes" and I switched back to recommended Telkom package. Doesn't work. Neither does their call centre.
Now what do I do? Emigrate??

Hmm, I've been told that my current month-long no service from Telkom is partly due to being migrated from Telkom 10mb to 10mb Wholesale and then being dropped 2 months later to a normal line (no ADSL) client, despite myself having requested any changes to my account.

I got through within 15 minutes earlier this afternoon, spoke to a friendly and knowledgeable consultant.

Lucky I guess!

The contract for 480 call center staff was not renewed in December .
Telkom said it should not impact their service level . :twisted:

At about 48 staff to a call center that is like 10 call centers .
