Has anyone tried MTN Cloud Play?

I don't know if one can say RAIN has dropped the ball? GFN has been doing pretty well AFAIK? Just the capacity/sold out is a problem.

But this is interesting.

Only thing I don't like about cloud gaming right now is there are too many niche games and modded stuff I play that are unlikely to be supported any time soon.

Went through the signup process. Got an sms thanking me for subscribing but when trying to login to https://cloudplay.mtn.co.za/ with my number I get user not found error. Tried different browsers as-well and same error. Anyone else manage to login?

Edit: Looks like i jumped the gun, got another sms saying the subscription is now active and was able to login

So, have you tried it out yet ? Perhaps you could give us a little review

No not worth it. In fact it's pretty bad to be honest. They are using Amazon for the rigs and it's hosted in CPT. Max 720p resolution on lowest graphic settings. There is a huge delay and I tried it on fibre.

It's meant for small screens like phones but even then it's not worth it as the Amazon rigs aren't good enough. It's esentially the same as Airgpu.com etc

Oof that's a little unfortunate. The graphics could somewhat be excused considering the price, but the delay is a deal breaker. Thank you for the feedback.

Hopefully they'll sort out the delay and add some more powerful rigs in future.

You can try it out even if you don't have airtime. It doesn't take airtime when you subscriber I think it will only start billing after a few days or there is like a trial but I got access without any airtime.

I picked up an MTN simcard yesterday and went through the registration process. Tested a few games and the graphics are definitely less than desirable. Less demanding games like rocket league look okay. You can also mess with the settings on some games, but it would often freeze for me.

For some reason I could play the games when using the cloudplay windows app, but it simply never loaded when I tried to play through the browser.

Tested on 5g and there were times where it was playable but it was laggy for the most part, input lag wasnt all that bad when it was running smoothly. Hopefully they'll optimise this.

One major annoyance is that they send an OTP whenever signing in. This means I also have to swap out my simcard just to login.

But I genuinely hope they'll make it better in time. I'd be more than happy to pay double if they can at least get all the games to play at 1080p high with minimal input lag.
