Thanks for the infoVery few are made very well and you could end up with one that uses low grade copper, making it near useless.. cleaning is a PITA, it needs constant sunlight to work effectively (if you have a pool cover, don't bother) roughly 6 months or so you need to replace the copper anode..
I think in the long term you are better off installing a PVC pool cover.. prevents evaporation from wind and sun, so less frequent top ups and you would also use less chlorine..
Thanks for the info
I’m having trouble keeping my pool blue I thought this might help. It’s eating chlorine like nothing. I put 3 cups in, test it 2 days later- no chlorine…
Take a water sample to a reputable pool shop so they can test your levels and advise where the imbalance is and provide the right products and procedure to add them.. make sure you have accurate volume of pool to provide them..Thanks for the info

Bru, stop talking shiit. That's the first time I've seen that post.
I've heard of this model, its expensive, and lands up in other people's pools.
I don't put it in the weir now, i just throw it over the pool. Usually 2-3 cups at midday. Pool is 70k L.You need to adjust the PH, more than likely more Alkalinity.
Get the test strips, do you put at least one cup in the weir?
Also put your chlorine at sunset/night else the sun sucks up the chlorine.
Vinyl/fibre glass or gunnite pool..?I don't put it in the weir now, i just throw it over the pool. Usually 2-3 cups at midday. Pool is 70k L.
The tester shows Ph is ok, Chlorine low/zero and stabilizer low/zero.
But i've heard its best to keep stabilizer out the pool so it doesn't stain the sides?
I don't know, how do i tell? The floor and walls feel rough? Like it was a smoothed concrete? Its at least 30 years old though it might have been re-done somewhere along the line i don't know what the life span of pools is.Vinyl/fibre glass or gunnite pool..?
Problem is that stabilizer is meant to help prevent chlorine from being degraded by the sun.. what you should also be doing is a maintenance dose of algae killer every two weeks, 500ml..
I have just had a pool cover installed and can confidently say that's working to keep chlorine levels great.. I have never before been able to measure the same chlorine levels over 4 days in summer without the pool cover.. can also still smell the maintenance dose of algae killer..
Sounds like gunnite.. fibre glass and vinyl are smooth..I don't know, how do i tell? The floor and walls feel rough? Like it was a smoothed concrete? Its at least 30 years old though it might have been re-done somewhere along the line i don't know what the life span of pools is.
