I am trying to help someone out with their domain, and get it moved to new servers but the people who control the email address to accept the transfer appear to be XSInet.

I have now emailed them 3 times with instruction on how to get the domain moved across quickly, but 'when' they respond (which out of the 4 emails I have sent, I have gotten 2 replies), they are not very helpful.

Anyone else had problems with this ISP? Will let you know how things develop. :/

Xsinet was launched in September 1999 as the first free Internet Service Provider in South Africa. By January 2000, a mere 5 months later, we were the third largest ISP in the country with 40,000 users. Since then we have continued our rapid expansion, growing at a rate of approximately 8,000 users a month. We currently have over 160,000 registered users.

Does anyone use this ISP, they claim to be growing at 8k users a month. I believe this does not seem very accurate. Who here actually uses XSInet?

I used them for Dial-up the past 7 years. Had excellent service from them, never had any downtime or anything, however with me now being on ADSL, their pricing was just too steep to stay with them. I had to look for greener pastures...

But overall, they did an excellent job as ISP in my book, and I really can't complain about bad service from my side.

:)

cool, thanks. Theyve responded to me and are currently assisting me, which I am thankful for.

Good luck with the transfer! The worst thing in hosting is getting the domains transferred. The reason I say this is that the one reason many people move to another hosting company to host their site is because of bad service. Now the new host will have to sit with the problem of getting the domain transferred from a host with bad service :(

Good luck and I hope you get them to accept the ticket!

This is BS. An ISP should not have any say in how/if and when you can move your domain. Obviously they do it to make sure you do not leave with your account in arrears.
