I recently purchased a new Samsung S20 phone.

It worked perfectly for about 3 weeks when I suddenly keep getting the message "Not Registered on Network"
I took it to a Samsung repair centre. They told me that there is nothing wrong with the phone. They get the same message when inserting a sim into the 1st sim holder. If they inserting a sim into the 2nd sim holder the phone works. They are convinced that the phone (1st sim IMEA number) has been blacklisted.

They think that the phone was blacklisted after I purchased it.

How can I check this? Is there a central blacklist database I can use?

Thanks in advance

There is one, but your not getting access to it.

It’s for cops and SPs only. However last I checked it was cleared after 30 days, so wait a month and you should be fine again.

Where did you buy from? Return to the provider to have them sort it out

The phone has been blacklisted. Same thing happened to me when I bought my S20 from Flipphone. The person they bought the phone from had an account issue with MTN and they blocked the phone (SIM1 but SIM2 still worked)

They replaced the phone with a S21 so I scored in a big way.

Had the same issue many moons ago, bought a S5 and after a year boom no network, called ISP said the owner didn't pay the contract and phone was blacklisted, hence never bought a phone that someone is paying for on contract, never got it resolved as ISP wanted him to settle account before they unlocked it.

Took a while for MyBB to ban the selling of contract phones on the forums for this very reason. Used to be so many ads that read "Unwanted upgrade".

I am having a terrible time getting them to replace the phone, or refund me.

I think I need a lesson on how to use social media to let the world know about their poor service

Would like advice

Thanks

Maybe report it to the police. They sold you a stolen device. However, the police could dispossess you of your phone as well.
Would love to hear what excuses they have given you. Says they will gladly replace the device...
