Signed up for your Gamers Delight special yesterday -
Amongst all the issues with ISP's you guys have been rock solid.

Well done

I'm already uncapped... don't have a hat any more :erm:

Signed up last week for the Gold Uncapped and loving it.

Yep service is awesome - got an account and username in 2 minutes flat

:)

Must say, my free 1gb account is also performing like crazy. Props to openweb.

Been on Gold Uncapped forever now and couldn't be happier.

Hicklethumb - I have had various accounts through them - they very rarely take more than 10 minutes to get back to me

Whaaat. After I applied I didn't even get any confirmation at all :/

Well, I paid with Card (Master), and got confirmation of ADSL user name and password via sms, before I got their email.

Filling in all the fields required, would be a good starting point as well.

I think it might be ABSA taking their sweet time to approve the debit order, as I can see the pending account activation when I log in with my free account

Edit: Nevermind. Logged in again. Didn't get a conformation mail or sms, but it seems like the account it active. Will have to wait until I'm home to test

And of course I filled in all the fields. I don't work for parliament :D

That is your holdup - Lesson 1: When obtaining a new account either EFT or pay with card :)

Glad you are sort of sorted ;)

I got my new account with the debit order and it took only a few minutes to happen. I bank with Capitec though. Everything still going sweetly by the way. :)

MWeb kept denying that there was a problem from their side causing poor performance since the speed upgrades. Signed up with OpenWeb and experiencing perfect performance at a lower price. The lower price comes as a bonus.

It's a lower price, but you also get prioritisation for downloads and gaming. It's a premium product at less than the other ISP's standard products. The value is amazing.

DrewChan (or anybody on the OpenWeb special) any chance you could run a tracert to 146.66.152.1 for me? Want to to sign up, but need to be sure latency to Dota EU is solid.

I have been trialling Openweb Gold Uncapped 2MB for half a month now and let me just say it is fantastic! Keoma is doing some clever things and with MWEB's network failing them right now he is poised to pinch customers from them

The fact that they deny anything wrong just p!sses me off even more.

Edit: This was done from a free 1GB unshaped gold capped account.

Thanks ld, I would imaging the gold/unshaped capped account is entirely unshaped though. The uncapped/special likely has much higher contention.

Regardless, on the back of all the recommendations, I took up the 4mb Gamers Delight thing. How do I know what backbone it uses? Username is just [email protected]

If I am not mistaken, Openweb use Internet Solutions (IS) for its backbone

Do a speedtest or tracert somewhere.
