hauwei e5331 issue: brower dashboard

So i connect my mifi to my laptop to charge via usb.
then it loads some drivers etc. and the next thing I know, when i'm in chrome, i cant open any websites!
I type in mybroadband in the url, it opens up the mifi dashboard control page. i can type in any address i want, it doesn't open it, it goes to the dashboard page 196.168. i think some address...

whats causing this?
how do i fix it?

Uninstall the drivers. Had to do it to my work PC as it messed with the default Internet access.
