This should apply for both finger dislocations and sprains.

Just a couple questions:
1) How long did it take to heal?
2) Can you remember if you had stiffness from the injured finger while it was healing?
3) Did you go to a doctor or just let it heal by itself?

My ring finger was pretty badly sprained (maybe a bit dislocated but everything flexed ok after a bit) and immediately swelled up and was bruised, and a week later the inflammation is gone but there's still a good bit of stiffness. I've read it can take 9 weeks to heal.

The real question is what were doing with your finger to get it that way.

Sounds more like you had a bad sprain.
Yeah I've never sprained a finger before and it's a crazy injury ... you just don't expect to see a body part swelling up like that so quickly. Quite remarkable the way our bodies work, we don't always see it on the outside like this.

Furiously masturbating, of course. If you think my finger was sprained, you should see my gentleman sausage. At least the swelling there wasn't a bad outcome.

Real men masturbate the prostate.
Wanted to counter with a "real men use more than one finger", but this is going into a dark place now.

So many times. Strap it to the next door digit and get on with it.
This. It works to limit movement and speed up healing. Get one of those long mini bandages at Dischem for fingers. I think you get finger splints too. Stop using it, whatever the activity may be.

What he said...

Ideally you want to get it back in its joint as soon as possible. I needed to do this whilst on the trail, so had a guy pull on it while I moved it back into place. Ideally you want the doc to do this. Still not fully healed a few years down the line ( if I place my hand flat on a surface, its immediately apparent which was the dislocated finger).

I ****ed up two of my fingers one evening around 7 years ago. Was gonna fall and grabbed a door handle to steady myself and all I heard was ggggghh...like a tearing sound. Sat with fat fingers for a while. Decided to have them checked out cause I got gatvol of strapping them to my other fingers on that hand.

Frere Hospital surgeon takes one look and says he can't fix them. I ****ed them up too badly. So Ive lived with them like that. They don't pain anymore. No strapping needed. Skew but I've got used to them. Only thing is I can't shake hands with my right hand anymore. So I use the left hand.

Anyway, Covid sorted that out too....you not allowed to shake hands anymore anyway lol.......

My peen once in a reverse cowgirl position 1 drunkard night in the 90s
Hurt like hell but thankfully it healed very quickly

Also have a pinkie finger similar to gottatoon. Dislocated it then went to the doc to have it strapped and after healing it never extended fully again.
