Have you ever disputed/reversed either a Debicheck, the new system, or a NAEDO, the old system debit order?
And I am not talking about the illegal debit orders like the R99 fsckers.

I am talking about the mandates that you agreed to and authenticated either via USSD, Internet banking/cell phone app, or by way of your card and pin.

Feel free to explain your Poll response.

Just some background on the Debicheck system for those who are not aware. I am no expert this is just how i understand it.

In the old days we made use of the EDO system. Where you could present an AEDO or a NAEDO against a debtor's bank account. We made use of AEDOS for 99% of our client's repayments. An AEDO you could not change the amount but you could change the presentment date after the mandate has been created. This worked amazingly well. The debtor could not dispute an AEDO, that was the law.

NAEDO's you were able to change the date of presentment as well as the amount after the mandate has been created. NAEDO's were disputable by anyone that feels like it. If a NAEDO debit order went off your account you could reverse it.

In May 2021 IIRC the new Debicheck system was introduced in SA. What this now meant was that you as the Debtor must approve a Debicheck whenever it is created on your account. Either by way of your banking app on your phone, a USSD, or at an ATM or at a bank branch. Or at a POS with your card and your pin.

Now there are certain rules that apply to a Debicheck. If i Edit the date or the tracking days on a Debicheck of one of my debtors, the Debicheck becomes Disputable fi there was a successful collection. This means the debtor can Dispute/Reverse the debicheck at any time after the collection was done. No questions asked.

If the Debicheck was successful without any altering of the dates or tracking, the debtor can not dispute the Debicheck but he can cancel it. Really messed up rules for you the service provider.

The debtor can also at any time CANCEL the Debicheck if he/she wants to. Even before the presentment date. No questions asked.

I'm reversing membership fees every month till they take notice and cancel my account, as I requested. Guess I might be doing this for a while, since they clearly don't actually have a cancellation department.

Just an update on my Disputes for May 2022.
I had 26 disputes, it was 24 x clients that lodged a successful dispute.
R57k that I have to try and recover from them.

Every fscking month since December. For Cartrack. For a car that was sold, when I left the country.

June went a bit better. 17 Debicheck disputes. R20k less than May.

And 2872 successful collections.

I’ve had to block a debit order from a scummy ISP who kept debiting my account after I’d cancelled. Mail and call after call and zero action, each month getting money taken and no stop from their end or return of my funds.
