Have you experienced the same from ABSA?

I did 2 EFTs yesterday and requested notice of payment to be sent to my e-mail address. They never arrived. Sometimes one needs this proof of payment rather urgently.

The same happened today with another two. I called MY BANK and they said they have an e-mail problem on their side. The said they logged the problem with their engineers and no-one knows when it will be fixed.

They made billions in banking costs last year alone. I suggest they get themselves better IT support.
 
I've had this problem with Standard bank the last two months which has forced us to make cash payments to the parties concerned... the proof of payment simply vanished off our online banking and they claim ignorance.

There seems to be maybe some form of scrutiny by SARS/government of whom we pay what.
 
Never experinced anything like that with ABSA. It does seriously piss me off that your bank is so blase about the problem. Like you say, we pay massive bank charges in SA, they damn well better be prepared to provide reliable services. Thats very swak.

You can always goto your "profile" and check up on your last payments.

It hasn't vanished - the bar steads have simply made it difficult to find to force you to use their own confirmation method and charge you (yet again) extra.

Go to: Payments and Transfers > Transaction history directly after doing an EFT - the transaction will show up there and you can print / PDF it as before.

Standard Bank: Monied, Motivated, Greedy.

I know where I can find proof of the payment if I need it that urgently, but the issue is this: I requested a notice of payment via e-mail and I would like to receive it in that format. I think they also charge you a fee for sending it, so the fact that we pay for it, means we are entitled to the service.

No offense to you, but I do not see why I should make a 'plan B' because the biggest bank in SA ****s up on a regular basis.
 
Unless you have some good contacts @ ABSA, they charge you for everything they possible can. My STD Bank account is alot cheaper and to me the service i get from STD Bank is way better than all the useless time wasting people @ ABSA.

Any1 know when they run those tapes that some company's use to pay thy're employees, through/@ABSA?
