Busy updating mine now. 2 hours 30 min in already, looks like I should be getting to the end soon. Excited, feels like im getting a new toy without paying anything :)

iMessenger = Messages (the usual SMS/MMS App)

Seems there might be config that needs to be done on the SP side.

Not quite, fxit_man has managed to get it working. If i remember correctly it has something to do with sending a msg to the persons email address, the message will then be displayed in blue indicating it has been sent using iMessage.

Take a look at this thread : http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/372664-iMessage

Iphone 3GS with old bootrom can be jailbroken untehered using sn0wbreeze. I'll send links when I'm at my PC.

Updated my iPad (sorry, I know the thread said phone) to IOS 5 last week. Loving it - notifications really makes a difference and iMessage is quite good.

Battery life on my iPad has really gone downhill since the update! Otherwise the rest is pretty cool, disappointing there is no weather widget for the ipad notification center

iMessanger is nothing separate, all you have to do is send someone an SMS, if it "detects" that the person you are sending to also has iOS 5, it will change the background color of their name from green to blue.

+1, but iMessage has to be enabled in Setting > Messages. :)

Strange, battery life on my iPad1 is the same as ever, but my 4th-gen iPod Touch needs charging twice a day now. This battery thing is really screwy, but I guess we'll have to waith for an update to sort it out.

Got my iPhone recently (with 4.3.5) - no jailbreak for that (yet), so upgraded to iOS 5. Running tethered at the moment, and praying for a tethered version to appear soon!

Updated on my iPhone 4.

iMessage is pretty cool - you have to activate it in your message settings. I still prefer WhatsApp though.

From a visual perspective, I really like the rounded sliders that appear in settings, etc as opposed to the older switches that were present in the previous iOS.

Loving the non-intrusive Notification Centre - muuuch better!
