Having a tough time

Been working my ass off (sleep is for weak people) and this month is my first month as an independant. No boss. No salary. In the last 3 weeks I racked up around 180-190 hours worth of work I've done.

In the last 2 weeks I've gained 3 more clients due to the lack of response and/or willingness to deliver a service from my previous company...originally starting with 4 and content with the fact that money will roll in.

So things are looking up even though I'm not sure about my monthly income or what will happen after my 3 month contract with the 1 client (who pays me better than anyone else) will end. My focus was/is to re-evaluate every 3 months.

But this isn't why I'm having a tough time. It comes into my other goal to getting my fitness up to the level it was 8 years ago. This month has literally flew by and I haven't done a single thing to work towards that goal.

Do you think I'm over extending myself in terms of goal setting and now I'm being too hard on myself for not following through with it or is this normal with starting your own business? That everything else is put on the back burner until you feel more comfortable with clientele and income each month?

Or is it a question that you do it anyway, have a daily work out routine and that the 13-16 hour day you put in doesn't affect this?

I reckon working for yourself is tough. You might be taking on too much based on the above but if you can see some sort of horizon then you can work towards that.

When I'm working as flat as out as you mention you are at the moment. I go into a routine and stick to it until the haze clears. Sometimes it lasts two weeks sometimes two months. Routine is key.

Getting exercise will actually help you perform though. I'd out that first in my order of priority.

You have to make time for exercise. If your health takes a nosedive you won't be able to work those long hours, burning the candle on both ends so exercise routine is important. Maybe a morning walk to start off.
As anyone owning a business or working for themselves will tell you, it's long hours for several months/years, and remember most businesses fail within 24 months so find a balance somewhere. Without your health, you are nothing.

In short, since you asked, I will give you the answer:

No-one is gonna give you a medal for over-extending yourself at work.

Heart attacks are prevalent in unfit, overweight, overworked men.

Get your ass from the office to the gym.

I mean well :D

Well i would not suggest you go to the gym.

Go get yourself an orbittrek and just use that for the moment or by yourself a bicycle and go for a 20 minute ride a day, that is alot better than sitting at a gym on a bicycle bored out your mind, plus you will get some fresh air which is always good for body and mind.

Wake up 30 minutes earlier for exercise and another 30 minutes exercise before you sleep. You must sleep (rest) to have a healthy body and mind.

If you can't manage this, then maybe get someone to work with you to lessen your strains and all that. You don't want to collapse or have some heart attach.

Acid, don't you miss Dubai?
Nope, not at all. What I do not miss from here though is random people jumping infront of you in the street or selling stuff ;)

Yea I know. It's just getting there is the problem. I need to get up at 5am already to get ready for work and I only get back at 8:30ish at night, then it's another couple of hours or work before I then go back to bed.

Blegh, will have to find some way of fitting this into my schedule!
