I live in CT and PE. I have an ISP in both places. my account in CT is faster than the one in PE thus I want to use it now that I'm here. No one is using it in CT and the router is off. However when I put in the password and username in this router it says authentication fail, is there anyway around this?

Sure the ISP doesn't have some security function active that binds the account to a certain landline? Which ISP is it?

Uncapped = linked to your circuit (telephone number). Can you imagine you and your cuz in Jozi paying half price each for one line if you were able share it?

Just trying to show you the logic behind it. All uncapped lines are secure locked, ie, you can only use it on one circuit.

Not necessarily true.

Concurrent connections are usually not permitted (i.e. connections limited to one at a time). I don't know of many ISPs who offer to lock your account to your landline and I believe the option can be disabled. Their reasons for it are largely just to keep your account secure so that your credentials can't be abused elsewhere should they be stolen.

The only one I know if that forces it is Mweb and that can be disabled/moved at request.

It's not sharing, one person is still using it just in a different location.

Afrihost uncapped accounts ( and the free 1 gig ) are locked to a phone line number, quick call to reset it to a new number

I used my details on a neighbours router to test the new router and it worked like a charm. But i dont think it will work if the places are at a large distance apart.
