Hay fever

Thanks to a decent ENT specialist I've been episode free for a couple of years now. Go see a specialist.

I've also been suffering with hayfever for the last 2 weeks now.

In winter? Thats odd.

Funny thing is I had very bad hayfever most of my life, last year nothing, Took one Telfast 180 just incase but nothing, been over 2 years now.. no sneezing!:o

Hate it!! And my face swell up and i go all nasty looking.
I drink a Decelex (spelling) every day of my life for this. And it works a charm.

This morning I have nasal drip, moisture in ears, burning throat 7 nose, itchy ears. Don't think Texa is working for me anymore. Eyes are burning so much I can't wear my contacts. miserable :(

Get some Pharyna made by Natura. It is homeopathic, has no side effects & can be taken every four hours. You can buy it @ Clicks, Dischem etc.

Any medication recommended from those having heavy HF? I mean over the counter meds

I use Fexo for my allergies. You can get the 120 for seasonal HF else the 180 is for chronic medication (which I'm on). I've tried them all and found Fexo to be the best - been using it daily for 6 years now.

I must say that this has been the worst year since I've been on chronic medication for my HF. I've found what helped was to wash my pillow in the washing machine.

I've found the homeopathic stuff not to work and your just throwing away your money. Newer HF medication works much better with no negative side effects of earlier generation 1 medication.

I'm a fan of alternate medication but one also needs to admit that its not always the solution.

Well deselex, loratidine, ceterizine (all are non-sedating). though its best to get a nasal corticoseroid on a chronic script.

Try "Loratadine" - available over the counter. 1 Tablet twice a day SORTED. Or take Allergex at NIGHT. :P

Thx everyone, now I'm more confused than ever. That Fexo seems viable, although meds effectiveness probably differs from person to person

Fexo is prescribed as a chronic med as it its effective for 12 hours. If your suffering a lot then speak to your doctor. You will be put onto Fexo (or similar) and also a nasal spray like FloMist.

In my case I have preventative asthma and also use a preventer which also alleviates HF like symptoms.
