It is actually a clever marketing ploy, everyone knows that Gavin Belson is a dick in the industry. Though in the series Belson doesn’t really see the humiliation behind the signature, it would have been a ballsy move to make and a clear message to the competition. Just exploiting the market in a humorous way, but it is not how the series portrays it.
