Hi Guys

Well is it possible, i tried searching the dstv forums and fags but could not find anything.

Say you have a HD LCD in the living room and one in the bedroom, how do you go about getting HD signal to the bedroom ?

Ta

HA ha ha my bad sorry guys. *jis i can be daft some times*

You would need to get an HDMI splitter (make sure it is HDCP compliant), then take one HDMI cable to your living room TV, and one, very long one to your Bedroom.

The longest HDMI cables you can get is probably 20m. So if it is any longer you would need an HDMI repeater, or you can get a solution that converts the HDMI to Cat5, which can be much longer and then you convert the Cat5 back to HDMI at the bedroom side.

SpaceTV sells these types of things:

One thing you must just check is whether it will work for the sound as well?

How does the sound work when one uses hdmi ? Can you for instance just plug in the hdmi cable and you have picture and sound or do you have to use other cables to get sound ?

The sound gets send over the HDMI, or you can use a coax or optical cable.
Ideally you want it to work over HDMI so that you only need one cable, that is why I said you should find out if the splitters and cat6 extenders will carry the sound.

Oh ok i get you now, thanks

HDMI Cat 5 extender works well for me........ I am using a 2 way HDMI splitter from ellies and the ellies extender. (they also sell the cat 5 cable and RJ45 connectors). HD DSTV looks awesome on both lines
