Seems to be the final nail in the coffin for the AACS implementation used on HD-DVDs! Unless if I'm misreading the whole thing, Volume Unique Keys can now be read from the HD disks because the (very recently compromised) Host Private Key is used to authorise the drive to give out the disc's VolumeID which can in turn be used to derive the Volume Unique Key which is also not revokable!
This upshot of all of this is that apps can now be written to decrypt the movie whithout having to sniff keys from Power- / WinDVD
