HD DVD on old DVD player.

I want to order a DVD but it is only available on HD. My DVD player is old but my LCD TV is HD Ready. My DVD is connected to the TV via Component on both sides.
Will it work?

Is it a HD-DVD or a normal DVD? A link to it might help. A HD-DVD won't play on a normal DVD player by the way... It is like trying to play a DVD on an old CD player.
