HD DVD-R DL? The HD-DVD format has been discontinued. I don't think you'll find those. You'll only get Blurays or you can record on ordinary DVD+-Rs (SL or DL).

Does that mean that you can't even buy blank discs anymore, how unfair to people who have already bought all the HD-DVD things.

Well, i bought them off ebay and i am burning my AVCHD files onto the HD DVD Media. Not everyone is interested in Blu-Ray right now, and i want to share my videos with family who only have HD DVD players at the moment.

sorry, but the war is over, and Bluray won by K.O.

**** happens.

Out of interest... what do the discs cost?

I see rectron sells a bluray writer... but no discs.

I did see Makro selling BD-R's but i dont know why i didnt ask price :o

Whats Rectron selling them (thw writers) at ? ( yes i know they are distributors not retailers :) ) , quite silly for them not selling the discs, unles they are out of stock.

HD, Bluray-confused.

I have a "full HD" LCD TV. Now I want to buy a new DVD player. Heard that HD is to be replaced by Bluray. Why did I buy this TV? Or am I confused?
There are only a few Bluray DVD's available at the moment.
Seems like technology is sprinting faster than the equipment.

Dont worry - you've got the right TV ;)

HD-DVD has already been whiped out by Bluray. But your TV's full-HD is different to HD-DVD, you're TV's full-HD is just the resolution it supports (1080p), which is Bluray as well.

The wiping out of HD-DVD by Bluray has eliminated competition to BD.
This translated into increased BD disk and hardware prices, or at least
a slow decline in pricing. So its a bad thing for consumers.

Does anyone have experience with 'Memorex' media ? I bought Memorex HD DVD-R's but i got a feeling they will cause crashes while burning.

Memorex is a good brand.
You didn't answer my question earlier... what HD-DVD writer do you have?
